Description
I bring a unique combination of experience as a musician, filmmaker, writer, and actor, with over two decades of creative work across music, film, and television. My career began at 18 with a release on the legendary punk label Posh Boy Records, which led to collaborations with Michel Gondry and placement in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Since then, I have toured internationally and released music with The Willowz, Cults, CRX (with members of The Strokes), and Guards, gaining a deep understanding of performance, storytelling through sound, and the collaborative nature of creative production.
As a composer, I have scored documentaries for CNN and ESPN, along with campaigns for Chevrolet, HBO, Vice, Pepsi, and Wal-Mart. These sharpened my ability to convey emotion through music, adapt to creative briefs, and deliver under tight deadlines. My background in both film scoring and songwriting gives me a rare sensitivity to the interplay between music and image—an essential skill I bring to directing.
In film, I have directed music videos and short documentaries for artists including The Hives and Christopher Owens, and most recently wrote and directed my debut feature Crystal Cross. Made with a small team traveling across America, the film required adaptability, resourcefulness, and leadership.
As a citizen of the Cherokee Nation, I bring a cultural perspective rooted in resilience, survival, and community. I see my skills not only as personal accomplishments but as tools to inspire and open doors for others, particularly fellow Cherokees and independent filmmakers.
Special Skills & Experience
I am a Cherokee filmmaker, producer, and musician with a multidisciplinary career that spans feature film, branded content, artist management, and international touring. My path combines music and film, giving me a unique perspective on storytelling and the technical fluency to carry projects from concept to completion. I have professional experience in directing, producing, editing, sound mixing, and scoring, as well as artist development and creative leadership.
As a filmmaker, I wrote and directed my debut feature Crystal Cross, which premiered at the Austin Film Festival in 2025 and was presented by Michel Gondry. I oversaw every stage of the production—writing, directing, editing, and sound—which required leadership, adaptability, and resourcefulness. Previously, I directed music videos and short documentaries for artists and brands, and I have also worked as an editor and sound mixer on narrative shorts, documentaries, and commercial campaigns. My producing experience with DreamCrew and Allen Hughes Productions (under Peter Nelson) has given me further insight into development and production management on both narrative and music-based content.
In music, I have toured the world with The Willowz, Cults, CRX, and Guards, experiences that taught me to lead creative teams under pressure and connect with audiences globally. I have scored documentaries for CNN and ESPN and licensed music to films, television, games, and major campaigns for Chevrolet, HBO, Walmart, and more. These projects strengthened my ability to combine sound and image to create emotion, a skill that directly informs my directing. In addition, my time as an artist manager with Roc Nation gave me experience in artist development, release strategy, and global touring logistics.
As a citizen of the Cherokee Nation, I view my creative skills not only as personal accomplishments but as tools to tell stories rooted in resilience, survival, and spirit. I hope to inspire other Cherokees and independent artists to pursue their own voices while continuing to develop mine as both a filmmaker and musician.
